CCCS Academic & Program FAQ's

CCCS is provisionally accredited with the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.  The NWAAS accreditation process establishes rigorous quality standards and validates the educational quality of schools through on-site reviews.  The NWAAS on-site review team reported "The school appears to offer a strong educational program option for students and parents of the St. Helens/Scappoose area".   Accreditation has been granted retroactive to September 2009.
 

The NWAAS is acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the six regional accreditation agencies for K-12 Education. For more information, visit their website at www.northwestaccreditation.org/



CCCS Curriculum Scope & Sequence


What is the curriculum?
CCCS measures our curricula against stated outcomes and goals for our academic program. A scope and sequence is available for each course at each grade level by clicking the links listed above.

CCCS K-8th grade uses a variety of publisher’s, which meet or exceed Oregon State standards. Our curriculum is constantly being reviewed for accuracy of academic content and learning styles.


What type of student assessment testing do you use?
CCCS Students are tested at the beginning and end of the school year using performance series computer adaptive testing to provide teachers and parents with information regarding their placement, instruction and progress.

Do you offer on or off campus enrichment and extracurricular courses?
Yes - On campus enrichment courses - Spanish, P.E, music, computer, library, art, drama and chapel.  
Off campus extracurricular activities (Middle School) – CCCS partners with the local public schools to provide students with opportunities to participate in band, sports and Community School.

What is the maximum class size?
All Day Kindergarten – 16 students per classroom
1st – 5th – 20 students per classroom
6th – 8th – 20 students per classroom
Additional students will be placed on a waiting list

What is the annual cost of registration?
New Students $225.00  * Returning Students $200.00

What is the monthly cost of tuition?
Full Day Kindergarten $370.00
Elementary Grades 1-5 $390.00
Middle School Grades 6-8 $420.00
*  Pricing based on ten (10) month payments, August- May. A 5% multiple student (2 or more) and 5% early pay by September 1st discount available.

Do you offer financial tuition scholarships?
Yes, CCCS uses the FACTS tuition management program. The maximum scholarship is half the cost of tuition. Visit www.factstuitionaid.com to apply online
 
Do you offer a daily, extended care program?
Yes, our Before and After School Club provides students with a safe, nurturing environment to do their homework, eat a nutritious snack, and play with their friends.

Do you have uniforms?
Yes, CCCS dress code is:  Solid color  - turtlenecks, polo shirts, or button-down blouses
Khaki, navy, or black-pants, shorts, skorts or skirts  
On Fridays, blue jeans and school t-shirt allowed

Do you have a lunch program?
Yes, CCCS has a lunch program available on various days.

How is CCCS governed?
CCCS is governed by a society of voting members who elect the Board of Directors. Membership in the Society is required for student enrollment and is available to those who believe in the ministry of Christian schooling. The membership fee for 2009/10 is $100. per family of 1 to 2 members and is tax deductible. CCCS is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), in the process of school accreditation and registered with the Oregon Department of Education.
